We visit historical sites in Kanchanaburi including the Bridge over the River Kwai, the bridge was immortalized by the movie of the same name. From there we continue on to the Allied War Cemeteries, where the remains of 6,982 war prisoners (mostly the British, Dutch and Australian) who lost their lives during the construction of the ‘Death Railway’ are laid to rest. Then enjoy a train ride on Death Railway through magnificent scenery, passing over the original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs. As well as Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum attempts to the story of why and how the railway was built and the hardships and suffering endured by so many who were forced to work in extremely harsh conditions.
